The submission deadline (November 18, 2017) for the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup® 2017/18 is getting closer and it’s time for a Q&A session to answer all the question marks out there at this very moment.

Q1: What is the IWC Series?
The Innovation World Cup® Series is the most established open innovation platform worldwide with over 13 years of successful competitions.

Thousands of contestants from over 70 countries have already taken part and made valuable connections with leading industry players to form powerful alliances capable of transforming their budding ideas into success stories. For many, the Innovation World Cup® is the reason their innovation is visible to those who make a difference.

Q2: Who can take part?
We welcome revolutionary Internet of Things and Wearable Technologies solutions from developers, innovative startups and researchers across the world. Seven different categories are available: home, city, lifestyle, industrial, transportation, healthcare and retail.

Q3: What does it cost to enter?
Nothing. Entries into the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup® 2017/18 are completely free of charge. Just breakthrough creativity and passionate motivation are required.

Q4: What can I win? Why would I take part?
For bringing your innovation to the spotlight across the IOT & WT tech scene, winning prizes worth over $500,000, connecting with leading tech companies (such as STMicroelectronics, EBV Elektronik, LoRa Alliance, Gemalto, Geeny by Telefónica NEXT, VARTA Microbattery, etc.), speeding up your development, joining international conferences as a speaker or exhibitor, and becoming part of the worldwide IOT/WT network.

Q5: How can I register?
Simply follow the registration link, create your participant profile and then a submission form.

Q6: How long will it take to complete a submission?
The whole submission process should not take you more than 30-40 minutes.

Q7: How can I sign up for a Special Prize?   
To compete for the preferred special prizes answer “Yes” to the relevant questions in the submission form’s “Special Prizes” section and fill in all the required details. The winners of the special prizes will be announced at the Pitch & Award Ceremony.

Q8: How can I request a software development kits provided by the IWC Series’ partners EBV Elektronik, STMicroelectronics, LoRa Alliance, Gemalto, Geeny and BSH?
By registering for the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup® and filling in the submission form with all the required details, you will have the unique opportunity to order one of the software development kits provided by the Innovation World Cup® partners directly via the submission form.

Q9: How can I be nominated as a finalist?
Just bear in mind that the more in-depth and comprehensive your submission is, the higher chance you will have to be selected as a finalist!

Q10: What happens after the submission deadline (November 18, 2017)?
The evaluation phase starts. Judges from world-leading tech companies will assess your application and select the most disruptive solutions. The finalists will be then invited to join the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup® Pitch and Award Ceremony to rock the stage with their project.

Q11: Where is the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup® Pitch and Award Ceremony taking place?
The IOT/WT Innovation World Cup® Pitch and Award Ceremony will be held at Europe’s major Expos focused on Wearable Technologies and IoT.

The Pitch and Award Ceremony for wearable solutions will take place on January 30th  2018 at the WT| Wearable Technologies Conference in Munich (more details available soon).

The Pitch and Award Ceremony for IoT solutions will take place at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona between February 26th and March 1st 2018 (more details available soon).
