Smart Territory Digital Challenges 2019

The Smart Territory Digital Challenges 2019 first edition supported by BIM World Paris was a great playground for start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs who aimed to take the lead in smart construction, smart building and innovative urban planning. The contestants could demonstrate how they were shaping the future of the industry and making our territories smart across four different categories: Construction | Real Estate | Smart City | and Environment. Remarkable start-ups gathered on the stage of the BIM World Paris on April 2nd, 2019 to live pitch their cutting-edge solutions to the board of jurors and exciting audiences. The winner won the race with an exclusive voucher to the upcoming BIM World Munich, the leading event in Europe for the digital transformation of the industry.

The 10th IoT/WT Innovation World Cup® 2018/2019 powered by STMicroelectronics, Gore, EBV Elektronik, Gemalto, Würth Elektronik, AiQ Smart Clothing, VARTA Microbattery, Microtronics, and Cicor Group was an extraordinary edition. The race included the categories: Industrial | Healthcare | Transport | Lifestyle | Retail | Home | City | Agriculture | Sports & Fitness | and Gaming. Additionally, the innovators had the chance to run for five special prizes supported by the competition’s partners. They were: “Trusted Connectivity Award” powered by Gemalto, “EBV IoT Hero” powered by EBV Elektronik, “Smart Clothing Special Prize” powered by AiQ Smart Clothing, “Gore Innovation Center Prize” powered by Gore, and "BIM/Smart Construction Award" powered by BIM World. The pitch and award ceremonies took place at the 33rd WT | Wearable Technologies Conference 2019 in Munich on February 5th-6th, 2019, and in Barcelona at the 4YFN/Mobile World Congress 2019 on February 26th, 2019. The finalists pitched their solutions on stage with live evaluation by a board of international tech experts.

Tech Start-Up 2018

The Tech Start-Up 2018 powered by StartupCon was a celebration for the most outstanding tech start-ups selected by an international jury of experts according to the degree of innovation, market readiness and technological feasibility. The competition took place in Cologne's LANXESS arena at Start-Up innovation summit, the largest start-up conference in Germany on September 18th-19th, 2018. The emerging techpreneurs shocked the sophisticated audience with their exceptional solutions. They took the absolute chance to present promising business concepts to tech experts, investors and join a gigantic network meeting of the leading innovators.

IoT/M2M Innovation World Cup® 2016/2017

The IoT/M2M Innovation World Cup® 2016/2017 was a blast! The competition covered five categories namely Smart City | Industrial | Automotive | Transport, Logistics & Surveillance | and Healthcare. Beyond that, the special prize "Smart Building & Home Automation" powered by Bosch and the “Security Award” powered by Gemalto were awarded. The Pitch and Award Ceremony was hosted by our official Spanish partner ACCIO – Government of Catalunya inside the Mobile World Congress 2017 – the largest gathering for the mobile industry in Barcelona. Finalists took the stage to pitch their solutions to the mass audience of investors, media, executives and Mobile World Congress attendees. The trophies were presented to the finalists by representatives of the IoT/M2M Innovation World Cup® 2016/17 main partners: Remi De-Fouchier and Manfred Kube of Gemalto, as well as Martin Gebler from Bosch Group.

Cloud Innovation World Cup® 2013/2014

Cloud Innovation World Cup® 2013/2014 was powered by Allianz Digital Accelerator, CloudEO, Gemalto, EuroCloud, SIIA, and Cloud World Forum. The race addressed new application areas of cloud-based innovations for all relevant markets and industries, such as Smart Living | ICT Business Services | Mobility | Urban Infrastructure | and Industry 4.0. Additionally, the Cloud Innovation World Cup® partnered with CloudEO, an online collaboration platform to create, interpret, use, and market GEO content and services, for the “GEO Award” to seek solutions that integrated Geo-spatial information and provided additional benefit to the cloud based service offered. Furthermore, partner Allianz Digital Accelerator enriched the Cloud Innovation World Cup® 2013/2014 with the "Evolve Insurance Award". Allianz Digital Accelerator initiated the special prize to foster the development of smart wearable devices and cloud solutions that have an impact on safe living. The Cloud Innovation World Cup® "Innovators of the Year", as well as the winner of the "Evolve Insurance Award" were celebrated in June 2014 in London, during the Cloud World Forum.

M2M Challenge 2012–2014

M2M Challenge, the leading award in the field of machine-to-machine (M2M) and communications, was initiated in 2012 with partners Swisscom, Ericsson, Telit, VARTA Microbattery and Gemalto. Since the contest was first launched, hundreds of participants submitted their innovative solutions in the M2M field across the categories Mobility, Healthcare, Security and Consumer Electronics & more. The contest became a huge success, gathering the attention of important industry players such as Intel, Gemalto and MediaTek, which became partners of the open innovation platform. Since 2014, the M2M Challenge runs under the name IoT/M2M Innovation World Cup®, which is the leading innovation competition in the IoT/M2M field.

The WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup® 2013 was a great success. The competition brought up excellent wearable solutions in application to Sports & Fitness | Healthcare & Wellness | Security & Prevention | and Gaming & Lifestyle. The Bluetooth Innovation World Cup® 2011 recognized the third year of consecutive successes. Galileo Masters / European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) 2004–2010

The Galileo Masters / European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) 2004–2010 was supported by partners: Anwendungszentrum Oberpfaffenhofen, Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), European Space Agency (ESA), Navteq, and T-Systems. The ESNC, the world´s largest and most successful innovation competition for satellite navigation, was set up and organized by Navispace AG from 2004-2010. During this period, a whole ecosystem of around 20 international regions and 180 experts were set up. Since its inception, thousands of participants joined the competition. The contest is today the leading global network in the segment of global navigation systems, looking for new products, services and innovative businesses in the satellite navigation sector to encourage the use of satellite navigation in people´s everyday life.
