Step up, enter your IOT/M2M solution, and be recognized: The 4th IOT/M2M Innovation World Cup kicks off

Milan / Munich, 28 April 2015 – The IOT / M2M Innovation World Cup has an impressive track record in identifying game-changing solutions that have become the stars in the Internet of Things. And the opportunities are still endless if objects start to think, feel and talk. Scenarios that only existed in science fiction previously are becoming a reality. From hands-free driving, to smart home and working environments that automatically adapt to use patterns and other parameters, up to the automatic control of distributed plant operations. Only the sky is the limit.

The Innovation World Cup Series is pleased to announce this year´s kick-off of the IOT / M2M Innovation World Cup together with title sponsor Swisscom. Gerhard Schedler, Head of M2M Competence Center Swisscom states “We want to encourage innovative entrepreneurs and developers to accelerate their breakthrough solutions to the next level. As one of the founding partners we are very much looking forward to see the next game-changing solutions in IoT”.

After the kick-off at the M2M Forum in Milan on 28 April 2015, the database will be open for breakthrough solutions in the following categories:

  • Smart Manufacturing,
  • Mobility,
  • Smart City,
  • Security,
  • Healthcare
  • Connected Home

The contest not only recognizes and honors new and innovative IOT / M2M solutions in cooperation with partners and sponsors, it additionally gives contestants the opportunity to win prizes worth more than $160,000.

Participants also benefit from direct access to a global network of potential partners and can access development kits of the partners MediaTek Labs and Gemalto for free.
From 28 April until 15 November developers can submit their solutions on www.innovationworldcup.com/iot-m2m/.

The IoT / M2M Innovation World Cup has already proven to be the leading IoT / M2M award worldwide. Contestants from 60 countries and hundreds of contestants demonstrate the huge innovation potential in the world of machine-to-machine communications and the Internet of Things. The global innovation competition is welcoming revolutionary IoT / M2M solutions in the categories of “Smart Manufacturing”, “Mobility”, “Smart City“, “Security“, “Healthcare“, and “Connected Home”. An international panel of experts will select the most innovative products according to criteria such as level of innovation, marketability, and usability. Submission phase is between 28 April and the 15 November 2015. Participation is free of charge.
