The 8th MEDICA App COMPETITION powered by BayerG4A and Roche took place at the MEDICA CONNECTED HEALTHCARE FORUM, the international innovation hotspot for digital health on Tuesday, 19thNovember. Over 100 start-ups around the world submitted their app and platform based solutions to advance the healthcare sector and 15 made it into the finals. Here are the top15 medical app solutions 2019 (in alphabetical order):

    A non-invasive solution for monitoring heart health and shared up to the minute data dashboard and alerts system when unusual behavior is detected.
  • ClarityTek Inc. (USA)
    Virtual reality deep brain stimulation cognitive therapy for Alzheimer’s.
  • Computational Life (USA)
    Digital Avatar Platform is a digital avatar (digital version of the human body) to rapidly design medical solutions.

    DeePathology STUDIO is a customized AI solution for digital pathology.
  • Diagnosia Internetservices GmbH (Austria)
    Diagnosia Drug Companion is an app for medical practitioners: medication, side effects, and similar medicaments.
  • GROVES Sound Branding GmbH (Germany)
    SonicTonic e-Health-app  is a soundscapes app with positive effect on health (e.g. treating stress, anxiety, and sleeping disorder).
  • Keleya Digital-Health Solutions (Germany)
    Keleya is a wellness app for personalized Yoga workouts and nutrition during pregnancy.
  • Medicus AI (Austria)
    Medicus AI is an AI-based platform that explains and interprets blood tests and medical reports to provide personalized health tips.
  • MedVisit (Spain)
    MedVisit requests a doctor at home anytime, anywhere.
  • midge medical GmbH (Germany)
    midge App is a device and app for simplified blood extraction and testing.
  • Silibrain LLC (USA)
    Incognimed is a medical record hosting service that allows professionals to collaborate and keep track of medical data while keeping patients’ identities hidden.
  • Smart EpiGenetX (Romania)
    Life is a nutrigenomics kit and app.
  • Synphne Pte Ltd (Singapore)
    SynPhNe is a connected wearable solution that trains brain and muscle for persons with disability after stroke or injury, or due to aging.
  • Therapify (Poland)
    Therapify is an app to track progress in psychotherapy and share results with therapist.
  • viMUM GmbH (Germany)
    viMUM is an online course for birth preparation, pregnancy and motherhood.

The breathtaking pitch and live evaluation of the international jury revealed the MEDICA App COMPETITION 2019 winners:

1st place:         Synphne Pte Ltd, Synphne, Singapore
Wearable solution to train brain and muscle due to disability after stroke, injury or aging
2nd place:, DeePathology STUDIO, Israel
Customized AI solution for digital pathology
3rd place:         Midge Medical GmbH, Midge App, Germany
Device and App for simplified blood extraction and testing

“The finalists represented the key trends in digital health, such as digital primary care, digital therapeutics and clinical decision support. We are interested in all these fields and are committed to helping innovators find their individual path scaling up and making an impact for patients and care teams” states Oliver Gassner (Head G4A Digital Health Intelligence, Bayer G4A).

The winning companies will now benefit from the valuable MEDICA ecosystem of healthcare experts, companies and investors coming from over 170 countries. Additionally, cash prizes of 3.500 EUR and a package of free marketing and promotion activities in the MEDICA communication channels will support them to take the next steps.
