New technologies for smarter living in the age of Internet of Things to be discussed in Nice on June 26th

The future of Internet of Things, Wearable Technologies, Cloud Computing and Smart Urbanization to be revealed by industry leaders at “Innovative City”

Nice 04.June 2014 – The Internet of Things is rapidly becoming a central pillar for urban planners and developers. Digital urbanism can impact the city in many ways. It will reduce city energy costs for streetlights, improve traffic flows, increase safety of citizens and security of information, revolutionize city waste management through connected garbage bins, change the way cities handle parking through connected parking spots, support retail business through smart shopping carts, improve healthcare of citizens through wearables, and last but not least will change the information and communication behavior of citizens (e.g. by smart screens showing information relevant to their immediate proximity).

The Smart World Event taking place at Innovative City on 26 June 2014 in Nice, France will show successful smart urbanization projects and solutions for the future. It will be opened by Elaine Cook of Intel presenting the essential ICT prerequisites of smart cities. International experts, key players and innovative companies presenting at the Smart World Event will demonstrate the fundamental role oftheInternet of Things (IoT) andMachine-to-Machine (M2M) Communication, Cloud Computing and Wearable Technologies for a smarter planet.
