- HOW DID IT ALL START?
Staex emerged as a product of the R&D department at Deutsche Telekom, aiming to offer an alternative to Cloud services for networking and management of edge IoT applications. The concept originated from a shift in paradigm, envisioning that IoT should commence with the device rather than relying solely on the Cloud. By enhancing the device’s capabilities and incorporating more logic within it, the future holds the promise of leveraging a combination of edge and Cloud processing for highly secure and reliable execution.
In this framework, the device becomes more proactive and utilizes a diverse range of services that are accumulated or “stacked” (hence the name Staex) within a comprehensive system. This system acts as a cohesive link between the device and various web offerings, encompassing web1, web2, and web3 services. Our goal was to simplify the lives of IoT manufacturers by creating a convenient “Cloud in a box” product, delivering SIM, Cloud, and Blockchain connectivity.
Staex’s vision draws inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, particularly its principles of resource efficiency, simplicity, and effectiveness. Reflecting this influence, the Staex platform unifies a multitude of services while incorporating fundamental elements of Bauhaus design philosophy into its logo.
- WHAT ARE THE KEY MILESTONES YOU HAVE REACHED SO FAR?
Staex, previously excubated out of Deutsche Telekom, has established itself as an independent company. The company possesses valuable software assets and patented technologies that were developed during its time at Deutsche Telekom. Their remarkable achievements have garnered recognition, including winning 1st place in the Industry 4.0 category at the German Deep Tech Award in 2021, securing 3rd place in the Paris Blockchain Week startup competition, and achieving 1st place at the 14th Innovators Worldcup at Hannover Messe.
Staex is driven by a mission to create highly secure and sustainable infrastructure for industries by leveraging web3 technologies. In a fruitful collaboration with regioiT, a communal software provider, Staex has successfully built and demonstrated a smart city data system designed to withstand various system outages while remaining online. Expanding their impact, Staex has partnered with Greenbox to develop a secure off-grid mobile EV charging system. Staex contributes secure and reliable IT infrastructure with the highest levels of availability, capable of withstanding attacks on the energy sector. Supported by German venture capitalists, Staex has secured a funding of 1.65 million, further fueling their growth and endeavors.
- WHAT WERE THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES YOU HAVE FACED?
Finding the right balance between our grand vision for the future market and the immediate needs of the current market has been the greatest challenge for Staex. We have come to understand that this delicate equilibrium must be maintained daily and should factor into every decision we make. With this awareness, as a team, we might reconsider some of our tactical steps if given the opportunity to start over. Nevertheless, our unwavering commitment to our strategy and overarching vision remains steadfast.
- WHAT IS COMING IN THE NEAR FUTURE?
Staex is deeply committed to upholding human agency over machines and provides secure and highly reliabel connectivity for machines, particularly in critical applications such as energy and drone/robotics industries. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have exciting plans to launch two major projects by the end of this year. These projects aim to develop secure drone and EV charging infrastructure in collaboration with our esteemed partners. We are dedicated to advancing these initiatives to enhance the safety and efficiency of these verticals.
