Smart textiles are fabrics that enable digital components such as electronics to be embedded in them. What makes smart fabrics revolutionary is that they have the ability to do many things that traditional fabrics cannot, including communication, transformation, energy conduction. Application fields are fashion, performance enhancement, health monitoring or protective clothing against environmental hazards like heat or radiation.

At this year’s 36th WT Wearable Technologies Conference during ISPO in Munich, the top5 smart clothing start-ups 2020 will present their winning concepts live on stage.

The AiQ Smart Clothing Challenge is a special prize of the IOT/WT Innovation World Cup®: more than 500 techpreneurs from around the world submitted their innovative solutions.

AiQ Smart Clothing is a pioneer in this area and has partnered with the Innovation World Cup® Series for several years to search for cutting-edge innovations. This includes completely new textile solutions, including fabric, garment engineering, as well as technologies or power systems that can be integrated into an existing piece of clothing.

These innovators will officially advance to the finals and present their solutions live in front of the international jury and exciting tech audiences at the 36th WT | Wearable Technologies Conference EUROPE, ICM – International Congress Center Munich (Germany) on 27th January 2020.

The winner of the Smart Clothing Challenge powered by AiQ Smart Clothing will be supported to transform their prototype into mass production and aim at high volumes. Additionally, they will benefit from worldwide visibility and expert consulting to scale-up their business.

The 36th WT | Wearable Technologies Conference 2020 EUROPE on January 27-28 will be the meeting point for international experts of the entire wearable value chain, co-located with ISPO Munich.
